Reason(s) why I purchased from you: I was using another ion counter I had got from you. You offered great service when I called you. This model is more affordable than competing products.

I am happy because: The ion counter I used before did not provide stable data because the readings always fluctuated. It was hard to get the exact ion count. This model is great because it allows me to adjust the display speed.

Reason(s) why I purchased from you: A friend of mine recommended you. I decided to purchase it as you provided info on how to use it and actual ion counts when I called you.

Detailed review: I wanted to conduct a research on how negative ion counts affect plants. I measured negative ion counts in a closed space. I was amazed that negative ion counts were higher where many plants were growing. It produces a forest bathing effect. I measured negative ion counts in a field.

Actually, I am working in the agricultural industry. I was amazed that ion counts fluctuated sharply depending on the winds. I learned that if you would like to obtain exact ion counts, you need to conduct measurement where there is no wind. You need to do all kinds of things to measure ions outdoors.

I will measure negative ions in many fields in order to develop new soil for agriculture. I very much appreciate your suggestions and advice in advance. Thank you!

Reason(s) why I purchased from you: Other shops offer this model at lower prices. However, you offer a two-year warranty. I thought it would give me peace of mind after purchase of this precision instrument.

Detailed review: This is my 1st ion counter. I do not have much experience in ion measurement. I visited product pages of many ion counters. I was searching for a reliable model which would be good for both ions emitted by ores and those floating in the air. I decided to purchase this model because it is simple and easy to measure ions and it does not require technical knowledge. I believe it will provide accurate measurement as it conforms to the JIS standard.

I have not got used to measurement. The reading changes every second, so I am not sure what the correct figure is. I will view the video clip on your website to learn more. This device is not large or heavy, so I can conduct measurement anywhere. I have found a product which meets my requirements as I am going to measure air ions at several places.

Other comments: I measured negative ions emitted by house plants. I thought they emitted negative ions but this counter showed "0". I am wondering if it cannot detect ions emitted from plants because the ion count is so low?? What kind of plants emit negative ions?

Reason(s) why I purchased from you: It comes with a specially designed box. It is important to store a measuring instrument in a suitable place. Otherwise, it can become defective. The radium sheet for test operation included in the package is useful. I decided to purchase from you because your price was similar to others but you offered the benefits.

I am happy because: I used to use the ITC-201A (discontinued) manufactured by ANDES Electric. It got broken and then I purchased this model. The counter I used to use ran on the built-in rechargeable battery. The battery started to run out quickly before the counter finally got broken. Battery deterioration determines the life span of an instrument which runs on a built-in battery. This model is great as it runs on UM-3 batteries which I can get at a local shop.

It provides more stable measurement than the old one which was using a simple parallel flat plate detector. It uses a double coaxial cylinder type ion detector which provides reliable measurement. It conforms to the JIS standard.

An air ion counter can be used as meteorological observation equipment. The reading rises when a thundercloud comes and the electric field changes. It can also detect ionized radioactive materials floating in the air such as radon. It can be used to check if a device, which is supposed to release air ions, is working properly. This great instrument has many applications. Here are examples I experienced.

1. The air ion count rose sharply just under a thundercloud. It was amazing.

2. The air ion count rose after Fukushima nuclear accident. It was caused by radioactive substances falling onto the ground. Radioactive substances which emitted alpha/beta radiation were floating in the air. I used the NT-C101A along with another radiation measurement instrument to find radioactive hotspots. While a general radiation measurement instrument can detect gamma radiation only, the NC-C101A is good for substances which emit alpha/beta radiation, so I was able to measure those substances which were floating in the air. I took soil samples at the hotspots.

3. There is a layer of sediment containing old fossil shells near my house. The air ion concentration level is high where the radiation level is high. The air ion count rises as radon gas is released from the uranium soil.

4. I found an ozone generator was not working. I was using the ozone generator to deodorize well water. You can use an air ion counter to check if your air conditioner/purifier or ozone/ion generator is working properly.

5. I used this product and an electrostatic meter to find that an ion hair dryer releases a lot of negative ions while releasing a very few positive ions. It removes positively charged intense static electricity which occurs when you brush the hair in order to protect the hair. It suppresses cuticle damage caused by intense charging/discharging.

6. I measured air ions where volcanoes were active. The air ion counts were very high where underground water/gas flowed well. Underground activities caused the high ion counts. An instrument provides figures as you cannot see air ions with the naked eye. If you measure air ions, you can observe phenomena such as meteorological air ionization states, existence of radioactive substances floating in the air, the operating state of an ion generator and so on.

"I use this counter to measure ions emitted by ion/radon generators. Thank you for this affordable product. "

I had been a captain of a boat for big game fishing for many years. I stayed on the sea for 3-5 days to catch greater amberjack, longtooth grouper and giant trevally once I left the port. I caught these fish weighing 30-60kg every day. I sometimes caught bluefin tuna weighing over 200kg. It was quite hard work.

25 years of the hard work caused rheumatism, gout and back pain. I got retired to concentrate on the treatment. I went to hospital and a radon hotspring for medical purposes.

I used ion/radon generators and drank about 1.5-2.0L of radon hotspring water every day. I believed the human body had natural healing power. I did these treatments for 3 years. I have recovered completely without having any side effects.

I use this counter to measure negative ions before I absorb them when I use an ion or a radon generator. I think the generators work as they emit a lot of negative ions. I am sure you will recover if you are willing to do whatever needed. I carry it around when I go to a radon hotspring. Initially, I thought it was expensive but eventually it is not. Thank you for this affordable product.
